About Us

About Us

The committees have established a total of 14 programs that serve the needs and interests of employees and the State University of New York (SUNY) and the guidelines for each program. The committees also review applications for all programs that are submitted for funding a project or activity, except for the Individual Development Awards Program which is administered by the campus professional development committee.

A Joint Labor-Management Executive Committee is comprised of the director or designee of the Office of Employee Relations (OER), the president or designee of UUP, and representatives of SUNY. The JLMC Executive Committee determines the funding allocation for each program and oversees all the Committees, including: reviewing activities, resolving issues of mutual concern that are referred by the other committees, providing overall policy direction and implement new initiatives that could benefit the State, the State University of New York, and UUP-represented members.

Each committee is comprised of an equal number of members appointed by New York State, SUNY, and UUP. Each party designates a co-chair for each committee. In addition, each campus has established a Campus Professional Development Committee that administers the Individual Development Awards (IDA) Program for the specific campus at the local level.

The NYS/UUP JLMCs are comprised of five committees offering the following grant opportunities:

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Article 10)
Employment Committee (Article 35)
Professional Development Committee (Article 42)
Safety and Health Committee (Article 43)
