The Hanson Place Child Development Center (HPCDC), has the capacity to serve 78 children, providing care for infants (beginning at eight weeks), toddlers, and preschoolers up to age five. The Center also offers a full-day Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) for four-year-olds. The Center provides year-round services for children and families of State employees and the community at large. All State employees receive priority enrollment. The Center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. – 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for 11 State holidays and two professional development days.
Children are provided with many rich and challenging experiences in classrooms that are organized into clearly defined learning areas, such as language, blocks, dramatic play, art, music, and manipulatives. Hanson Place offers field trips, a movement and music program, and bi-yearly parent/teacher conferences.
