My First or Next 5K

NYS employees and their family members are invited to complete either their First or Next 5K. Participate in one or more 5Ks and submit a form and you will receive a car magnet, a certificate commemorating your achievement, and will be recognized on this webpage.

  • My First 5K: I have never participated in a 5K. This year I want to walk or run a 5K and complete it.

  • My Next 5K: I have participated in a 5K before. I want to complete another one.

Guidelines and Submission Form

Guidelines

NYS employees and family members are invited to participate and complete their First or Next 5K between May 1 and December 31.

  • Participants are encouraged to see their physician before participating in physical activity.
  • Participants are encouraged to train for their event using one of the online resources which may be accessed at Training Resources for Walking or Running a 5K.
  • Employees who participate in one or more events will be recognized by receiving a car magnet and a certificate commemorating their achievement. Car magnets and certificates will be mailed to participants at the address provided. 
  • Employees should register after completing their First or Next 5K by submitting the following form.
