Optional Payment Election Program Allows Eligible Employees to Elect to Receive an Optional Payment in the Form of a Salary Advance
As of July 1, 2026, eligible Executive Branch State employees will be able to take advantage of an optional payroll advance program upon hire. The Optional Payment Election Program provides an employee with a tax-free advance of two weeks of basic annual salary.
The intent of the program is to provide eligible employees, upon hire access to funds during the approximate one month (2 pay period) wait time before receiving their first salary check. Payment of the payroll advance will be made on or around the completion of the first full payroll period worked, if timely application is made.
Program Highlights
