State Police Investigators Unit (BCI) - 62

Represented by the New York State Police Investigators Association, Local 4, I.U.P.A., AFL-CIO (NYSPIA), the State Police Investigators Unit is comprised of investigators and senior investigators in the Division of State Police who are responsible for undercover surveillance and investigations of major crimes. Established in 1935, the BCI is the plainclothes detective branch with over 1,300 investigative personnel in its ranks.

Members of this unit have binding interest arbitration for all issues except issues relating to disciplinary procedures and investigations or eligibility and assignment to details and positions.
