About the Statewide Learning and Development Series

The Statewide Learning and Development Series offers both in-person and virtual classes to eligible New York State employees. This series is made available through a partnership between the Office of Employee Relations (OER) and the New York State Learning Alliance (NYSLA). State employees may self-enroll through the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) at nyslearn.ny.gov. Essentials of Supervision: Delegating Effectively provides the why, what, and how to delegate and build skills required for delegation. Participants are presented with a framework to use for deciding how to delegate and acting on those decisions. This framework is intended to increase confidence, leading to more willingness to delegate, which in turn leads to greater experience and success on the job for the participant and their team.
